Augmented Reality-Mixed Reality Strategies for Digital Allyship
We are a group of two Interaction Designers who are deeply committed to using emerging technology to reveal the buried histories of the Bay Area’s first Nations. We worked with representatives of the Urban Indigenous community and Ohlone activist to show the true history of the Bay Street Mall.
The use of Augmented Reality (AR) is our attempt to reintegrate Native perspectives back into this place. The developers have purposefully omitted what the Bay Street Mall means to the descendants of those still buried beneath your feet. While hundreds of Ohlone remains have been exhumed, Archeologists posit that hundreds – possibly thousands – of Ohlone Ancestors are still buried below.
Our goal is to amplify the voices of those who are working to reclaim Indigenous Stewardship of Sacred Sites throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

Photography is a hobby of mine, I prefer taking landscape pictures. My photos express an appreciation of light and tell a narrative. Many of my photos are taken impromptu which results in endless possibilities.
